Gurugram Police Arrest Kalyan Bainsla In Woman Biker Case, Attempt-to-Murder Charge Added

Gurugram: Police have arrested Kalyan Bainsla in the case of hitting a female biker with a car on Golf Course Road in Gurugram. After closely examining the CCTV footage, the police added Section 109 of the Indian Justice Code, which deals with attempt to murder, to the FIR. The accused was caught in Dausa, Rajasthan. This matter quickly came into discussion after the video of the incident surfaced on social media.

What happened on Golf Course Road that day?

On Sunday, Siya was going on Golf Course Road on her sports bike. Meanwhile, a car came near her bike and due to the collision she fell on the road. The bike also started dragging on the road for several meters. At the time of the incident, the entire incident was recorded in the camera of a fellow biker. After the video surfaced, people started demanding the arrest of the accused.

Initially this case was being treated as a road collision and hit and run. After registering the case, the police collected footage from nearby CCTV cameras. As the investigation progressed, the police added a serious section to the case considering the circumstances of the incident.

Why did the police change action after CCTV footage?

According to the police, after detailed analysis of the CCTV footage it emerged how the car had turned towards the bike. On the basis of this investigation, Section 109 of BNS was added to the FIR. There is a provision for attempt to murder in this section and the punishment can be up to 10 years.

After this the police intensified the search for the accused. The investigation team identified the car and its driver and eventually arrested Bainsla from Dausa, Rajasthan. Now the police will interrogate him about his entire activity before and after the incident.

How did the accused try to save himself?

Before his arrest, Bainsla, while talking to the media, had refused to consider the collision as a deliberate attack. He said that he was in the car with his sister and two cousins. According to him, there was a situation like a dispute on the road with the bike riders and he did not deliberately target the woman.

Bainsla had also said that he did not stop after the accident because he was afraid that the bikers present there might assault him. He admitted to being at fault for the collision but denied the charge of intentionally ramming the car.

Sia has rejected the explanation of the accused. She says that the video of the incident itself makes a lot clear. She raised the question that if the collision was just an accident then why did the car driver leave the spot instead of stopping and helping them?

According to Sia, she was going towards a bikers cafe from Golf Course Road. She also told that people in the biking community recognise each other's bikes and riders and during the incident, one of her acquaintances had her camera on, due to which the entire incident was recorded.

Who is Kalyan Bainsla?

Bainsla runs a gym and has been calling himself an international Kabaddi player. There were pictures related to fitness and bodybuilding on his social media profile. He also claimed to be a member of the Indian rugby team, although his claims have not been independently verified. His Instagram account got deactivated after the incident.

What warning did the police give to the people?

Taking action in the case, Gurugram Police has warned people not to take the law into their own hands. Police say that legal action will be taken against the accused on the basis of available evidence and any kind of mob violence or attempt to disturb law and order will not be accepted.
